SOMO MONARKS  X  POTS SOUP KITCHEN

Reflection with Jerick Deleon

"Before actually going to the soup kitchen, I didn't really have expectations I was just excited I was actually going to help my community.

One of my favorite moments was when the people would insist on throwing out their own plate even though it was my job. They were very grateful for us going to help and saying "it's alright this is the least I can do you've done enough". That really gave me a boost to do more events like that because It actually made a difference in someone's life. I've learned that I'm very shy around people I don't know. I wanted to ask questions about what happened to them or how was their day but I wasn't confident enough.

My advice is take every opportunity given to help the less fortunate because it's very eye opening and a great experience to go through especially if your career involves people throughout the whole day. "
